Three years of law school, three months of intensive bar studying, waiting four months for bar results, then job searching in a crappy economy coupled with 14 hour work days (and can I be honest. . .poor diet, lack of sleep and heavy doses of stress) well . . . needless to say, it all took a huge toll on my once beautiful and radiant skin.
I had gotten facials done before, from small places in the SGV to higher end spas in West LA, but never had I experienced anything close to what I experienced at Skin Renewal by Heidi.
Facials aren't cheap but I made a commitment to repairing and rejuvenating my skin to its once former glory. And that means investing money into a quality service, which was what I received under the gentle hands and care of Heidi.
I coupled the LED light treatment with my facial for an additional $45 and let me tell you, it was worth every single penny. I walked out of the salon with my face glowing. And no, it was not glowing red and swollen like a tomato like at other places. . .my face was white and really lovely. My darling boyfriend who picked me up complimented my beautiful skin and was awestruck by how refreshed it looked. I also explained to him the other treatments I received, such as the oxygen mask (cold blasts of pure oxygen infused with vitamins - it was shocking and left me feeling breathless) and the micro current facial, which involved Heidi massaging two metal rods around on my face. I wasn't sure what exactly it did but the whole experience was greatly calming, relaxing and exactly what I needed after a hectic week at work.
I also bought a few products that Heidi recommended, such as the glycol facial cleanser and the probiotic face cream. The glycol facial cleanser cleanses my skin really well and doesn't leave residue like how other face washes do. The probiotic cream is really thick and smooth but when applied to the face, feels feather light and non-greasy. I also bought a BB cream from Heidi which I love as well. It has awesome coverage (moreso than the Dior BB cream) but it doesn't clog my pores or feel heavy on the skin (like the Korean brand BB creams I've used in the past [I've used Dr. Jart]).
Overall, I am a fan and I will be back. I have never booked a second appointment for a facial (as leaving the salon red faced and swollen was always greatly traumatizing for me) but I booked a follow-up treatment almost immediately after my first facial. Heidi turned me into a believer in her technical skills and as a result, I will be coming back again and again. If anyone can bring my pre-law school skin back, it will be Heidi.
